2020 was a dual year for United by schools, both humanitarian and institutional.
On one hand, the association deepened its engagement with the United Nations by defining the 24 Goals for Healthy and Positive School Climates, adopted during the second session of the Committee on School Climates in Geneva.
These goals became an international reference framework, inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to help build sustainable and peaceful educational environments.
On the other hand, the global pandemic compelled the organization to act closer to vulnerable communities.
Through the distribution of 6,768 meals and the opening of an emergency food bank, United by schools demonstrated that its mission extends beyond schools to encompass a broader spirit of solidarity and compassion.
2020 will be remembered as the year the association successfully bridged humanitarian action and institutional reflection, remaining true to its mission: to protect children, families, and educators — in all circumstances.
