In 2015, France reached a major milestone in the fight against school bullying.
What was originally planned as a special television program became, through the joint initiative of Lenny Pamart (United by schools) and Justine Atlan, director of the e-Enfance association, the first National Day Against Bullying at School.
Supported by the French Ministry of Education, this initiative aimed to establish an annual event to mobilize the entire educational community.
A few years later, in 2019, UNESCO drew inspiration from this model to create the International Day Against Violence and Bullying at School, celebrated worldwide each year on the same date.
For this first edition, United by schools, e-Enfance, and the regional education authorities organized a major conference at the Opéra-Comédie in Montpellier, gathering more than 1,000 students for screenings and debates led by experts.
The day before, a symbolic moment took place at the Vestric-et-Candiac private middle school (near Nîmes), where the Jasmin Roy Foundation, led by the Canadian actor and activist, together with e-Enfance and United by Schools, signed an international cooperation agreement.
This accord officially marked the creation of a joint committee against school bullying, sealing a lasting alliance between France and Quebec around a shared cause.
