third session of the schools climates committee organized at the united nations

United by Schools continued its normative work by organizing in Geneva the third session of the Committee on School Climates.

This session led to the adoption in second reading of the Convention for the Improvement of School Climates, a text drafted by civil society, including students, families, educators, and non-governmental organizations.

The Convention pursues a dual objective:

  • to raise awareness among UN Member States about the need to create healthy, safe, and positive educational environments;
  • and to withdraw itself once the United Nations General Assembly formally embraces its principles and integrates them into international public policies.

This milestone further strengthened the reference framework through which prevention, well-being, and cooperation are recognized as the foundations of sustainable educational peace.
